Final Critique: April 26th

Final Critique will start at 8am sharp. Please sign in to Zoom 10 minutes early so we may start on time. 

 

The Zoom link will be send via email.

Wednesday, April 21st is our last class.

There are a few things that we need to take care of. 

 

1. Tuesday April 20 is the last day to hand in redo’s or missed assignments. Please have your files downloaded by 5pm. We will critique them via Zoom on Wednesday April 21st during class. 

 

2. Please let me know if anyone is planning to come to the studio on Wednesday April 21st to work on their final assignment. More than happy to come and help. 

 

NOTE: You must have your final jpeg file(s) downloaded in to the “Final Assign Jpeg” folder by 5pm Friday April 23rd. Failing to do so will count as late and will have points subtracted from this assignment. 

3. Final Critique is on Monday, April 25th starting at 8am and will be online. Please be on time. Coming in late will result in your final grade having points subtract from this assignment.

 The class will meet online via Zoom to go over our next assignment. I will email a Zoom link before Monday April 5th. We will be going over our next assignment.

Monday March 22nd

Hi everyone, I am still out of town taking care of my mom. Therefore, I will not be in class for a few days. Ginger Cook will be taking over for me and is an excellent instructor and photographer.  You should receive an email from her soon with a Zoom link for Monday March 22nd class.  Please be on time.

I will grade your tabletop work as soon as possible. Please make sure you read the “Feedback” section in D2L. Remember if you got your work in on time you can resubmit for a higher grade.

Zoom Critique Canceled

Sorry, everyone but our Zoom critique for Wednesday March 16th has been canceled. 

 

Please make sure that you have turned in your two files before 5pm March 16th. I will grade them with comments on D2L. 

 Please, keep checking the blog for an update on what we are doing next week. I hope to have that posted very soon.

Wednesday, March 17

Your final jpegs are due.  See Assignment #1 update 

We will meet via Zoom @ 9 am. 

Step #3 Final Jpegs due March 17th, 2021  (30 points) 

A minimum of two final jpegs representing two of the three assignments above. 

The images need to be place in a folder with the students LastnameFirstname and download into the google drive folder labeled "Assign1_Finals"

Wednesday March 10th Test Shots

Assignment #1 Part B  is due today. 

If everyone would download their "Test Shots" onto Google Drive by 8am on Wednesday March 10th it will make things go faster. 

Make sure you have no less than 4 jpegs per subject! More is better!  

Zoom Link will be emailed to you. 

Week of March 8th

Please note under Assignments that Assignment #1 Part B has been updated with a deadline.  Everyone will need to turn in their "Test Shots" by class time on Wednesday March 10th.  We will be meeting virtually that day and I will send a Zoom link. 

Make sure you have no less than 4 jpegs per subject! More is better!  You may work at home or in the studio. 

Note: There will be no class on Monday March 8th but a good time to go work in the studio. 

March 3rd

 On Wednesday, I will be doing a short demo in the studio.   I will send a Zoom link for everyone to watch but if you would like to see it in person or just come and help, please let me know before class on Wednesday. 

The Zoom link will be emailed to you. 

March 1st

 A little reminder -  Part #1 Ideas Boards due @ 8:30 am   (10 points) 

Present examples of idea for your shots (i.e. environment/background, props, 

color palette)etc. as instructed during class.  Present at lease a couple of ideas for each category and make sure your presentations are informative and professional.

Week of February 22nd

 Monday February 22nd -

Class will meet online @ 9am  to go over Assignment #1.  I will be going over in detail the serval parts of Assignment #1 please be on time.  

Wednesday February 24th - 

The last group will finish up exercises 3,4,5 in the studio and there will be a short online meeting with everyone at 9:30am.  Roll will be taken!

Monday February 15, 2021 - Class Canceled

Due to concerns related to the forecasted inclement weather, Texas A&M University-Commerce closed at 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, and will open Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at regular business hours starting at 8:00 a.m.

Those students that was scheduled to work in the studio on Monday the 15th please be prepare to come on Wednesday the 17th.  As always there will be a short online class on that same day. 

Attendance Policy

Just a reminder: 

 

Attendance is required and is recorded at all class and lab meetings either face2face or online. Every student will be responsible for all information given during scheduled class and lab times. Attendance counts a maximum of 100 points. Students will start with 100 points and 10 points will be subtracted from the original 100 points for every day missed. You will lose 5 points for arriving after roll is taken. Note: A total of 4 absences from any class meetings (lecture or lab) could result in a failing grade ("F") or being dropped from the course except for extenuating circumstances, as determined by the instructor. Excused absences are listed under Class Attendance (A13.02) in the A&MCommerce Procedures. Verifiable excuses for absences must be turned into the professor in a timely manner.

On first day of class January 11, 2021, we will meet via Zoom. A link will be email to you soon. There is a lot of material to cover that first day so please be on time, prepared to take notes and to stay a while and you must have camera on. Failing to come that first day could count against your attendance grade.
